Quick US West Coast Thanksgiving Getaways
Hood River, Oregon
While you may think that coming to Oregon this time of year will be very cold. The weather is just right for creating one of the most breathtaking natural backdrops the West Coast has to offer. We added Hood River to our list of Thanksgiving Getaways because of its breathtaking scenery and natural beauty.
With sprawling countryside’s, the snow covered Mount Hood, there is just so much to see here. You can go for a walk and be truly blown away at how amazing this part of the country is. Hood River is ideal for you outdoorsy types and also for you wine enthusiasts. That is right, Hood River is known for being a bit of wine area with some great wine tasting events going on.
You could go the other way and use the outdoor setting for some of the more exciting outdoor sports like quad biking or if the wind is just right some epic windsurfing.
San Luis Obispo, California
The last place we are looking at is, San Luis Obispo. What we love about here is that it has just a cool vibe to it. The downtown area is something that anyone who has been here will rave about. With all kinds of funky stores, boutiques, galleries and awesome places to eat. There is just such a laid back and cool vibe here that it is impossible not to be blown away by the place.
You may not be aware, but this part of California is also home to The Edna and Arroyo Grande Valleys which are home to some of the best wineries in the country so if wine is your thing (and if you are sane it is) you will have a tremendous time here. Not to mention the beaches and mountain areas for those who like to get out on good walks and see nature, San Luis Obispo is a place that really does have something for everyone.
