Majestic Bali – A Must See Destination
Visiting Majestic Bali
Stunning scenery, lush landscapes, and beautiful beaches are what comes to mind at the mere mention of Majestic Bali, a wildly popular Indonesian island.
Given the fact that there are close to 10 million visitors each year, this 2200 square mile paradise can often seem touristy and crowded.
Traditionally, this would not be your choice if your ideal vacation is to wander leisurely through the island and discover a remote stretch of sand. But for those who are willing to get away from the masses, and venture a little farther out, there are some hidden gems that will treat you to the same beautiful views with a totally unique experience. Check out Bali’s best off the beaten path activities.
Nusa Penida-This destination is one of Bali’s best kept secrets. Its high coastal cliffs and unspoiled natural surroundings make it a great place to explore. Road conditions can be iffy, but that makes it even more intriguing. Comprised of 14 villages, this island is home to KelingKing Beach, one of the most spectacular in the world. You will have to hike nearly 30 minutes down a steep path, but it will be worth it when your feet touch the pristine white sand. Pure paradise.
Angels Billabong- This natural infinity pool is located about 100 meters away from Broken Beach. Both are certainly worth your visit. Formed where the mouth of the river meets the sea, there is some potential danger here, with rouge waves, and sharp lava rocks, so take precautions.
Peguyangan Waterfall- Hike down the metal blue staircase nearly 150 meters to the bottom of a cliff. With beautiful scenery throughout, you will have plenty of opportunities to get a great photo. There is a temple and a freshwater waterfall near the bottom, but the hike is most impressive.
Candidasa-Located on the east side of the island, this tranquil beach town is perfectly Indonesian. The laid back beach vibe is perfect for escaping the crowds. Accommodations range from budget to luxury, making it a perfect home base for exploring the history and cultural offerings of the area.
Aling Aling-This spectacular waterfall is actually part of a complex of 7. Its middle location makes it easy to hike or can be reached by motorbike in about 20 minutes from Lovina Beach. There are many spots to jump into the pools below, and true thrill seekers will enjoy its natural waterslide.
Pura Lempuyang Luhur-One of Bali’s most holy places to visit, this temple sits high above the beaches, nestled into the lush green mountains. This unique location and spectacular views are definitely a highlight for those willing to make the steep and challenging hike. 1700 stairs will lead you to the temple.
Though Majestic Bali is world famous, your vacation doesn’t have to be just like everyone else’s. Take a chance and find your own adventure. There are so many unspoiled locations to discover.
